Application courses

Fully booked courses - right at the chip

The new “Joy of Machining” application courses at our Tech Center have gotten off to a successful start. The first three courses were fully booked—a clear sign of the high level of interest among machine operators. With a maximum of 12 participants per course, we’re deliberately focusing on creating a hands-on and personalized learning environment. The workshops take place once or twice a month, and topics are determined on an ongoing basis depending on demand.

The focus is on hands-on application: participants work live on the in-house Fehlmann Picomax 550 Pro milling machine. The program kicked off with workshops on drilling, covering topics such as deep-hole drilling, micro-drilling, and drilling with interruptions and into inclined surfaces. Additional modules on threading and milling will follow.

During the tour, participants will learn all about our history, values, and processes

The program is designed to be highly practical. The courses are structured as interactive workshops in which participants can provide their own cutting data and test it directly on the machine. This is supplemented by chip analyses under a microscope, which allows for an even better understanding and optimization of the processes.

A special focus is placed on a solid foundation: only by mastering the basics can one efficiently solve machining problems and design processes that are both reliable and cost-effective. Guest lectures and direct interaction with specialists from Techcenter partners Fehlmann, X-Data, Blaser Swisslube, and Hertsch Edelstähle provide additional value.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants confirms the effectiveness of the program: “The Joy of Machining” strikes a chord with practitioners—it is expert, practical, and closely aligned with the real-world challenges of everyday work.
